    The Kellergasse Galgenberg, also known locally as 'Golingbir', derives its name from a gallows that stood on this hill until 1828. Today, the 256-meter-high Galgenberg is celebrated for its exceptional wines. Located about one kilometer outside Wildendürnbach, this 'cellar lane' boasts over 180 press houses nestled around the Galgenberg. More than 40 hectares of vineyards flourish in the surrounding area.A prominent feature is a steeple without a church, watching over the Kellergasse from the summit of the 'Golingbiri'. In 2013, the Galgenberg was honored as the 'Kellergasse of the Year'. The Galgenberg Kellergasse has the largest concentration of wine cellars anywhere in Austria.Visitors can explore the area year-round and book guided tours with wine tasting and snacks. Many of the cellars are still actively used and some offer private tastings or tours. The Besucherkeller is a self-service wine cellar where visitors can sample local wines and snacks. The village hosts wine-related events throughout the year.
