The Schönbrunn Palace is easily accessible via Vienna's efficient public transport system. The U4 metro line stops directly at the 'Schönbrunn' station, a few minutes' walk from the palace entrance. Tram lines 10 and 60 also stop at the 'Schloss Schönbrunn' station, located near the main entrance. Bus line 10A also serves the palace. A single metro or tram fare within Vienna costs €2.40.

Walking
From the Hietzing U4 metro station, follow Elisabethallee southeast. You'll see the palace garden wall to the south. Continue until you reach the car park entrance on your left. Enter and walk to the far end, where you'll find a marked entrance to Schönbrunn Park on the right. Follow the path to reach the main palace. Walking from Hietzing station to the palace takes approximately 10 minutes and is free.
