This 800 m² interactive exhibition is designed to be accessible and engaging for visitors of all ages, offering a unique educational experience.The Infocenter features ten themed areas covering various aspects of the tunnel's construction, including history, geology, surveying, and environmental considerations. Visitors can explore a display mine-shaft, participate in interactive exhibits, and even try their hand at building a stable tunnel from building blocks. The exhibits explain the positive effects of moving a large portion of traffic onto rail.The Brenner Base Tunnel, upon completion (estimated by 2032), will stretch 64 km, becoming the longest underground railway connection globally. It will reduce the journey time between Innsbruck and Fortezza to just 25 minutes. The tunnel's flat, relatively straight track with a gradient of 4‰ - 7‰ will also allow for longer and heavier freight trains.Located opposite the valley station of the Bergeralm Cable Car, the Infocenter is easily accessible and offers free parking. It serves as an ideal destination for families, school groups, and anyone interested in learning about this impressive feat of engineering.
