From Innsbruck city center, take tram line 6 or bus line J to Igls. From Igls, transfer to bus line F towards 'Igls - Patscherkofelbahn'. The bus stop is directly outside the Patscherkofelbahn valley station. A single bus ticket costs approximately €2.50. From the valley station, purchase a ticket for the Patscherkofelbahn to ascend to the Bergstation. A round-trip 'Kofel Ticket' for adults costs €31.00.
Walking

From the center of Igls, walk southwest on Römerstraße towards the Patscherkofelbahn. The walk is approximately 1.5 kilometers and takes about 20 minutes. Follow the signs for Patscherkofelbahn to reach the valley station located at Römerstraße 81. From the valley station, purchase a ticket for the Patscherkofelbahn to ascend to the Bergstation. A round-trip 'Kofel Ticket' for adults costs €31.00.
Driving

From Innsbruck, follow the A13 Brenner motorway south towards Italy. Take exit 25-Patsch and follow signs for Igls. Once in Igls, follow the signs for Patscherkofelbahn. Parking is available at the cable car valley station. Guests of the Patscherkofelbahn get the parking fee refunded on the day of access when purchasing a mountain railway ticket. Otherwise, the daily parking fee is €6.

The Patscherkofelbahn Bergstation, situated at 1,965 meters, serves as the upper terminal of the Patscherkofelbahn cable car, providing access to the Patscherkofel mountain and its numerous attractions. The mountain, a local favorite of Innsbruck, offers hiking trails, panoramic views, and a rich history dating back to the 1920s. From the Bergstation, visitors can explore various hiking trails catering to different skill levels. The most famous is the Zirbenweg, a leisurely path winding through ancient Swiss stone pine forests. Other trails include the Jochleitensteig, a panoramic loop around the summit, and the summit trail leading to the mountain's peak at 2,246 meters. The summit offers views of the Inn Valley and the Stubai Valley. The Patscherkofel has a significant place in Olympic history, having hosted events during the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics, including the men's downhill races. Today, visitors can still experience the thrill of skiing on the Olympic downhill run. Near the summit is the Gipfelstube, a restaurant offering traditional Tyrolean cuisine with views from its sun terrace. The Alpine Garden of the University of Innsbruck, the highest botanical garden in Austria, is also nearby, showcasing 400 different plant species. The original cable car was built in 1928, making it Innsbruck's first ski area and the longest cable car in Austria at the time.
