Public Transport
From Mayrhofen, take bus line 4102 towards Schlegeis Stausee. The bus departs from Mayrhofen station and the journey takes approximately 50 minutes. Tickets cost around €10 and can be purchased on board with cash. This bus will drop you off directly at the Schlegeis Stausee.
Car
From Mayrhofen, follow the Zillertal Straße towards Ginzling. Continue towards the Schlegeis Alpenstraße, a 13.3 km toll road leading to the reservoir. The toll fee for cars is €18. Free parking is available near the dam. Be aware that the road is narrow and winding with some one-way tunnels controlled by traffic lights. During peak season, parking spaces fill up quickly, so arrive early.
