    The Zillertaler Höhenstraße is accessible via five entrances: Ried, Kaltenbach, Aschau, Zellberg, and Hippach. From the Zillertal valley, follow the signs towards these villages. Once in the village, signs will direct you to the Höhenstraße. Be prepared for a winding mountain road with a toll. As of 2025, the toll for cars up to 6 people is €10. Larger vehicles and motorcycles have different rates. Remember to bring cash, as card payments are not accepted.

    Several bus lines connect the villages in the Zillertal valley with the Zillertaler Höhenstraße. From Mayrhofen, take bus lines 8330, C, D, H1, or H2 to one of the access points like Aschau. From there, transfer to a local bus that goes up the Höhenstraße. A return ticket from Hochzillertal-Almgasthof Zirmstadl/Platzlalm costs €13 for adults and €6.50 for children.
