Diri Baba Mausoleum: A Cliffside Marvel

The Diri Baba Mausoleum, dating back to 1402, stands as a testament to the Shirvan-Absheron architectural style. Commissioned by Shirvanshah Ibrahim I, this two-story structure is built into a cliff face in the town of Qobustan, near Shamakhi, Azerbaijan. The mausoleum is dedicated to Sheikh Diri Baba, a 15th-century Sufi mystic, and has become a site of pilgrimage and reverence.Local legend claims that the body of Sheikh Diri Baba remained imperishable after death, adding to the mausoleum's mystical allure.
