Interestingly, a German traveler, Adam Olearius, who visited the area in 1636, didn't mention the tombs, indicating they were likely built after his visit. However, by the early 18th century, Cornelis de Bruijn depicted all nine tombs in his published work, confirming their existence by that time. Archaeological research conducted in 2022 suggests that the history of the tombs and buildings in the area goes back to the 12th century.One of the tombs features an inscription that provides valuable information about its construction. According to this inscription, the tomb was built in 1663 or 1664 by the architect Amir Ali oglu Abdulazim. The tombs are believed to be the burial site of Sheikh Dursun's descendants, a revered figure from the Shirvan region.
