From Stepanakert, take a Marshrutky (minibus) heading towards Askeran. Marshrutkys depart regularly from the main bus station on Azatamartikneri Poghota in Stepanakert. The ride to Askeran takes approximately 30 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off near the fortress; from the drop-off point, it's a 25-30 minute walk to the fortress. Marshrutky fare is approximately 1-2 AZN.

Be aware that the road leading directly to the fortress may be unpaved in sections.
