    From Baku, take a bus from the Baku International Bus Terminal towards Guba or Shabran. The journey to Shabran takes approximately 2 hours and costs $3. From Shabran, take a taxi to the village of Dashli Yanar, which is the starting point for the hike to Chirag Gala. A taxi from Shabran to Dashli Yanar will cost approximately 5-7 AZN. From Dashli Yanar, the hike to the fortress is about 6 km.

  • Taxi/Ride-Share

    A taxi or ride-share directly from Baku to Chirag Gala is possible, but it will only get you to the base of the mountain. From there, you will need to hike to the fortress. The taxi ride will take around 2 hours and cost approximately 50-60 AZN. Be prepared for a challenging uphill hike of approximately 6 km from Dashli Yanar to the fortress.

The structure itself is an irregular rectangle, featuring 17 towers that provide extensive views over the surrounding coastal plains. Chirag Gala remained in use as a defensive structure until the 18th century.Today, Chirag Gala is a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors with its historical significance and panoramic views. Reaching the fortress requires a climb over rocky terrain, adding an element of adventure to the experience. From its elevated position, one can see the Beshbarmag Mountain, another element of Azerbaijan's ancient fortifications.
