Public Transport
From Baku, take a bus from the Baku International Bus Terminal towards Guba or Shabran. The journey to Shabran takes approximately 2 hours and costs $3. From Shabran, take a taxi to the village of Dashli Yanar, which is the starting point for the hike to Chirag Gala. A taxi from Shabran to Dashli Yanar will cost approximately 5-7 AZN. From Dashli Yanar, the hike to the fortress is about 6 km.
Taxi/Ride-Share
A taxi or ride-share directly from Baku to Chirag Gala is possible, but it will only get you to the base of the mountain. From there, you will need to hike to the fortress. The taxi ride will take around 2 hours and cost approximately 50-60 AZN. Be prepared for a challenging uphill hike of approximately 6 km from Dashli Yanar to the fortress.
Walking
The final approach to Chirag Gala involves a 6 km hike from the village of Dashli Yanar. The trail is rocky and steep in places, requiring a good level of fitness. There are no entrance fees or other charges associated with hiking to the fortress.
