Taxi
Taxis are readily available in Lankaran and can be hired to reach specific locations within or near the Talysh Forests. A taxi from Lankaran city center to a forest entrance may cost between $5-$15, depending on the distance and negotiation. Always agree on the fare before starting your journey. Taxi starting tariff is around $1-$2, with an additional $0.50-$0.70 per kilometer.
Driving
If driving from Baku, take the M3 highway south towards Lankaran. The journey is about 250 km and takes approximately 3 hours. From Lankaran, various roads lead into the Talysh Mountains, but road conditions can vary. Consider hiring a local driver with a 4x4 vehicle for exploring deeper into the forest. Gasoline costs around $0.60-$0.80 per liter.
