Hawar Island: Bahrain's Untouched Wildlife Haven

Hawar Island, the largest of the Hawar archipelago, lies approximately 26 kilometers southeast of mainland Bahrain, close to Qatar. These desert islands, once settlements of the Dawasir tribe, were surveyed in 1820 and called the Warden's Islands. Today, Hawar stands as a testament to Bahrain's commitment to preserving its natural heritage. The archipelago consists of 16 islands and islets, characterized by stunning landscapes. Hawar Island itself stretches about 17 kilometers long and 3 kilometers wide, with a modest elevation of 19 meters.
