The Archaeologies of Green Pavilion is a serene botanical garden located in Muharraq, Bahrain, where nature and cultural heritage converge. Originally conceived as the Bahrain Pavilion for Expo Milano 2015, the structure was dismantled and rebuilt in Muharraq as a living testament to Bahrain’s rich agricultural history. The pavilion's design, created by architect Anne Holtrop and landscape architect Anouk Vogel, features a continuous landscape of Bahraini fruit gardens intersected by enclosed exhibition spaces. Constructed from white prefabricated concrete panels, the pavilion's seams allude to Bahrain's archaeological history, creating a harmonious blend of nature and culture. At the heart of the pavilion are ten distinct fruit gardens, each showcasing trees that bear fruit at different times of the year. Visitors can immerse themselves in the sights, scents, and sounds of nature as they stroll through the gardens. The pavilion also features archaeological artifacts that celebrate Bahrain's tradition of agriculture, reinforcing myths that identify Bahrain as the location of the Garden of Eden.
