Travel Guide to Sajek Valley

Getting There

• Car

  If you are travelling by car, start your journey towards Sajek Valley from Khagrachari town. Follow the road signs leading to Sajek. The drive will take about 2 hours (approximately 55 km). The road is mostly paved but can be narrow and winding in certain sections. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition as some parts of the road may be rough. You may also need to pay a small toll fee at certain points along the way.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  To reach Sajek Valley via public transportation, take a bus from Dhaka or Chattogram to Khagrachari. Buses leave frequently from both cities, and the journey typically takes around 6-8 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Khagrachari, take a local jeep or CNG (auto-rickshaw) to Sajek Valley. The jeep ride will take about 2 hours and costs around 300-500 BDT per person. Be sure to confirm with the driver that they are going directly to Sajek.

• Motorbike Rental

  For those more adventurous, renting a motorbike in Khagrachari is an option. Make sure to have a valid driving license and wear a helmet at all times. The ride to Sajek Valley offers beautiful scenery but can be challenging due to the road conditions. Rental prices are typically around 1000-1500 BDT per day. Ensure you fill up on fuel before heading out, as there are limited fuel stations on the way.

• Local Transportation (CNG or Jeep)

  Once in Khagrachari, you can find CNGs and shared jeeps that go directly to Sajek Valley. CNGs are more affordable but can be less comfortable for longer rides. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand. The jeep charges are usually around 300-500 BDT per person. Confirm with the driver about the route and stops along the way.
