Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Dhaka. Head towards Cox's Bazar via the N1 highway, which is approximately a 12-hour drive (around 450 km). Upon reaching Cox's Bazar, follow the signs to the Teknaf port. The drive to Teknaf from Cox's Bazar takes about 1.5 hours (around 60 km). Once you arrive at Teknaf, park your car at a designated parking area. Note that parking might incur a fee, so be prepared with some cash. From the parking area, you will need to take a boat to St. Martin's Island.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from Dhaka to Cox's Bazar. Buses leave frequently from various terminals in Dhaka, such as the Gabtoli Bus Terminal. The bus journey takes around 12-14 hours and costs approximately 800-1500 BDT depending on the bus service. Once you reach Cox's Bazar, use a local taxi or CNG (auto-rickshaw) to get to the Teknaf port. This ride will take about 1.5 hours and typically costs around 200-300 BDT. At the Teknaf port, purchase a ticket for the boat ride to St. Martin's Island, which costs about 300-500 BDT.

• Boat

  To reach St. Martin's Island from Teknaf, you will need to board a boat. The boat ride typically takes about 1-2 hours, depending on the weather conditions. Make sure to check the schedule in advance as boats may not operate during rough seas. Boats generally leave in the morning and return in the afternoon. It's advisable to book your boat ticket in advance, particularly during peak tourist season.
