From Bridgetown, the capital, take any bus heading north along Highway 1 (also known as the West Coast Road). Several bus routes serve this route frequently. The bus ride takes approximately 20 minutes. Ask the driver to stop at Paynes Bay. From the bus stop, the beach is a short walk across the road. The bus fare is BBD 3.50 per person each way.

If driving from the south (e.g., Bridgetown), follow Highway 1 north. Pass through Fitts Village. Paynes Bay will be on your left. Look for the St. James Pentecostal Church; the beach access is directly across from it. Limited free parking is available near the fish market at the southern end of the beach and across the street from One Sandy Lane. Parking can be challenging during peak hours.
