Public Transport

From Bridgetown, you can take a public bus to the West Indies Rum Distillery. The standard bus fare is BDS$3.50. Look for buses heading towards Black Rock or Spring Garden and ask the driver to let you off near Brighton Beach. From the bus stop, it's a short walk to the visitor center.

Taxi

Taxis are readily available in Bridgetown. A taxi ride from Bridgetown to Stade's Rum Visitors Centre will cost approximately BDS$74. Confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey. The ride is about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic.

Walking

If you are already near Brighton Beach or the Spring Garden Highway, you can walk to the visitor center. Follow North Brighton Road, and you'll find the distillery on the beach side. Look for the signs for Stade's Rum Visitors Centre.

Stade's Rum Visitors Centre, a part of the West Indies Rum Distillery (WIRD), provides an engaging look into the world of Barbadian rum production. Established in 1893 by George Stade, a German engineer and inventor, the distillery quickly grew to become the largest on the island. 'Stade's' even became synonymous with quality rum in Barbados. Today, the visitor centre welcomes both rum enthusiasts and novices to uncover the secrets behind some of the world's finest rums.WIRD produces approximately 85% of the island's rum and is the largest rum exporter in Barbados. The distillery produces Stade's Rum and Planteray Rum. The tour experience begins in 'Pot Still Alley,' which houses the oldest surviving pot still in the world. Visitors can witness the transformation of sugarcane into rum and explore the Distiller's Vault, which contains rum-soaked recipes and blueprints. The tour culminates with a tasting session on the beachfront deck.Located on Brighton Beach, the visitor centre offers stunning views of the Caribbean Sea.
