Dating back to 1887, it stands as the Caribbean's oldest continuously operating resort. Originally known as the Crane Beach Hotel, it quickly became a favorite hideaway for the world's elite. The resort gets its name from its location on Crane Beach, which in the 18th century was a small commercial port that used a crane to load and unload cargo from ships.The Crane seamlessly blends traditional Barbadian architecture with modern comforts. The original 18-room hotel, Marine Villa, has been expanded into a 40-acre property with 252 residences and suites. Today, the resort features a range of world-class amenities, including multiple restaurants, bars, swimming pools, a spa, a fitness center, and a kids club. Guests can explore the resort's village, which includes an ice cream shop, art gallery, and shops.Beyond the resort, the parish of St. Philip offers a variety of attractions, including the historic Sam Lord's Castle and Bottom Bay Beach.
