Public Transport
From Aalst train station, take bus line 1 or 2 towards Erembodegem. Get off at the 'Gerstenstraat' stop. From there, walk straight ahead on Gerstenstraat for approximately 5 minutes (around 400m) to reach the entrance of Gerstjens. A single bus fare costs approximately €2.50.
Walking
From the Grote Markt in Aalst, head west along Hopmarkt, then turn left onto Molenstraat. Continue onto Graanmarkt, then turn right onto Pontstraat crossing the Dender river. Continue onto Ledebaan, then turn left onto Gerstenstraat. Walk along Gerstenstraat for approximately 500m. The entrance to Gerstjens will be on your left. The walk is approximately 2.5km and should take around 30-40 minutes.
Driving
From the E40 highway, take the Aalst exit. Follow the signs towards Aalst Centrum. Once in Aalst, follow signs for Erembodegem. Turn onto Gerstenstraat. Limited free parking is available near the entrance to Gerstjens at 12b Gerstenstraat. Parking is free.
