Car
If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to the A10 motorway (E40) if you are coming from Bruges or Ghent. Follow the signs for Ostend and take the exit for N34 towards Oostende. Continue on N34, which will lead you directly into the city. Once in Ostend, follow the signs for the city center, and then look for Slipwaykaai. There is parking available near the location, but it may incur a fee, typically around €2 per hour.
Public Transportation (Train)
For those traveling by train, head to the nearest train station that connects to the SNCB (Belgian National Railway Company) network. Purchase a ticket to Oostende station. The journey from Brussels takes about 1 hour and costs approximately €15-€25. Upon arrival at Oostende station, exit the station and catch tram line 1 towards 'Kursaal'. Get off at the 'Oostende Strand' stop, which is a short 10-minute walk to Slipwaykaai 1. Follow the tram tracks toward the coast, and when you reach the beach, turn left to find the location.
Public Transportation (Bus)
If you are within the coastal region, you can take the coastal tram service (Kusttram). The tram runs regularly between Knokke-Heist and De Panne. If you are near a tram stop, board the tram heading towards Oostende. Get off at the 'Oostende Strand' stop. From there, it is a short 10-minute walk to Slipwaykaai 1. Exit the tram station, walk towards the beach, and turn left to arrive at Ancien bateau.
