The Belgium Pier, or Pier van Blankenberge, is an architectural marvel extending 350 meters into the North Sea. Constructed in 1933 in the Art Deco style, it replaced the original cast-iron pier from 1894 that was destroyed during World War I. The pier stands as a testament to Blankenberge's resilience and innovation. The pier's design showcases a blend of functionality and aesthetics. Made entirely of concrete, it provides visitors with the unique experience of walking on water. The round pavilion at the pier's end offers panoramic views of the North Sea and the Blankenberge coastline. Over the years, the pier has been a dynamic part of the town's cultural landscape, housing amusement parks, exhibitions, and various events. Today, the Belgium Pier is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.
