Getting there

Car

If you're driving from Dyle Valley, head towards the E40 motorway. Take the exit towards Ghent (Gent) and follow the signs for the city center. Once you arrive in Ghent, navigate to Sint-Veerleplein. There are several parking facilities nearby, such as the Sint-Pietersplein parking or the Vrijdagmarkt parking. Parking fees typically range from €1.50 to €2.50 per hour.

Public Transportation

To reach Gravensteen using public transport, take a train from Dyle Valley to Ghent St. Peter's Station (Gent Sint-Pieters). The train journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Ghent St. Peter's, transfer to tram line 1 or 24 towards the city center. Alight at the 'Korenmarkt' stop. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to Gravensteen. Follow the signs towards Sint-Veerleplein, where the castle is located. A train ticket costs around €5, and tram tickets are approximately €3.

Bicycle

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Dyle Valley. Follow the cycling paths towards Ghent, which are well-marked. The journey will take about an hour, depending on your pace. Once in Ghent, navigate to Sint-Veerleplein. Make sure to check for bicycle parking spots near Gravensteen, as they are available but can be limited.

Walking
