Walking
If you are near the Louvain-la-Neuve town center, head towards the main square, Place de l'Université. From there, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the train station. Once at the train station, take the train to Leuven, which should only take about 20 minutes. Upon arriving in Leuven, exit the station and walk straight along Diestsevest. Continue straight until you reach the main square, known as Oude Markt, which is a popular area filled with cafes and bars.
Public Transport
Start at the nearest bus stop in Louvain-la-Neuve. Board a bus heading to the Leuven train station. Buses typically run frequently, and the journey will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive at the Leuven train station, exit and walk straight along Diestsevest. Continue until you reach Oude Markt, which is located in the heart of Leuven. You will know you are there when you see a large square filled with vibrant cafes and lively atmosphere.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Louvain-la-Neuve. Head towards the main exit of the town and follow the bike lanes leading to Leuven. The route is mostly flat and scenic, taking you through beautiful landscapes. After about 30 minutes of cycling, you will arrive at the outskirts of Leuven. Continue towards the city center, where you can easily find your way to Oude Markt, the famous square known for its bustling atmosphere.
