Getting There

Walking
From the center of Louvain-la-Neuve, head towards the Place de l'Université. Exit the square and walk towards the Rue de la Station. Continue straight until you reach the train station, Gare de Louvain-la-Neuve. Once there, take the bus line 1 in the direction of 'La Hulpe'. Get off at the 'Bois de la Cambre' stop. From there, follow the signs leading to the Sonian Forest, which is about a 15-minute walk through the park.

If you prefer biking, rent a bike at one of the local rental stations in Louvain-la-Neuve. Start at the Place de l'Université and head towards the Avenue du Jardin Botanique. Cycle straight until you reach the intersection with the Chaussée de Bruxelles. Turn left onto the Chaussée and continue until you see signs for the Sonian Forest. The bike ride takes approximately 30 minutes, and you will enjoy the scenic views along the way.

From Louvain-la-Neuve, walk to the Gare de Louvain-la-Neuve. At the station, take the train to 'La Hulpe'. Once you arrive at La Hulpe station, exit and take bus line 366 towards 'Tervuren'. Get off at the stop 'Sonian Forest'. You will find yourself right at the entrance of the forest. This journey will take about 45 minutes in total.
