Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Nieuwpoort, head east towards the coast along the main street, which is Nieuwpoort's main thoroughfare. Continue walking straight until you reach the junction with the N39 road. Cross the road and follow the signs for the train station. Once you arrive at the train station, purchase a ticket to Bruges (Brugge). The train ride usually takes about 30 minutes. Upon arriving at Bruges station, exit the station and head to the main square (Markt) by following the signs. Once in the square, walk towards the Belfry of Bruges and then take the street that leads you to Walplein, which is just a short walk from the square.

• Bicycle

  Rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Nieuwpoort. Start your journey by heading east towards the coastal pathway. Follow the bike path along the coast until you reach the outskirts of Bruges. Continue on the designated cycling routes, which will guide you to the city center. Once you are near the city center, follow the signs leading to the Markt square. From the Markt, Walplein is a few minutes away by bicycle, just follow the signs to the nearby streets.

• Public Transport

  Take the bus from Nieuwpoort to Bruges. You can catch the bus at the main bus stop located in the city center. Buses to Bruges run frequently. Once you arrive at the bus station in Bruges, exit and walk towards the main square (Markt). From the Markt, Walplein is within walking distance; simply navigate towards the Belfry and follow the street signs to Walplein.
