Getting there

Walking

From the Tournai train station, exit the building and head southeast on Rue de la Gare towards Rue de la Reine. Turn left onto Rue de la Reine and continue straight until you reach the Place de l'Evêché. From there, turn right onto Rue de l'Hotel de Ville and walk until you reach the Grand Place. Continue straight across the Grand Place and follow the signs towards the Pont des Trous. Cross the bridge and continue on Rue de la Fonderie. After crossing the border into Lille, France, follow the signs to Place du Général de Gaulle, which should be ahead.

Bus

From the Tournai city center, head to the bus stop at Place Charles de Gaulle. Take bus line 88 towards Lille. The bus will take you directly to Lille city center. Once you arrive at Lille, get off at the stop 'Gare Lille Flandres'. From there, exit the station and walk towards the Place du Général de Gaulle, which is a short 10-minute walk to the northeast of the station. Just follow the signs for 'Centre Ville' until you reach the square.

Train

Head to the Tournai train station and purchase a ticket for Lille. Take a train towards Lille Flandres, which typically takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Lille Flandres station, exit the station and head towards the Place du Général de Gaulle. It is approximately a 10-minute walk. As you exit the station, walk straight onto Rue Faidherbe, turn left onto Rue de la Gare, and then right onto Rue de la République, which will lead you directly to the square.
