Car
From Belize City, drive west on the George Price Highway (Western Highway). Continue for about 30 miles (48 kilometers) until you reach the town of San Ignacio. At San Ignacio, take a left onto the San Ignacio to Santa Elena Road and drive for about 3 miles (5 kilometers). Then, turn right onto the road leading to the village of Springfield. Follow this road for approximately 5 miles (8 kilometers) until you reach the entrance to the 1000 Foot Falls area. Note that the road may be unpaved, so ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain.
Public Transportation
From Belize City, take a bus heading to San Ignacio from the Belize City Bus Terminal. The fare is approximately $10 BZD and the journey takes about 2 hours. Once in San Ignacio, you can either take a taxi or find a local shuttle heading towards Springfield. The taxi may cost around $25 BZD and should take about 15 minutes. Make sure to inform the driver to drop you off at the entrance to 1000 Foot Falls. Alternatively, if shuttles are available, they may offer a more budget-friendly option but check the schedule ahead of time.
Hiking/Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and are already near the area of Springfield, you can hike from the village. There are trails leading to the falls, but it is advisable to go with a guide. The walk may take about 1-2 hours depending on your pace. Ensure you have proper hiking shoes and sufficient water for the trek.
