If you are traveling by car from Belize City, take the Philip Goldson Highway (also known as the Northern Highway) heading south. Continue on this highway for about 25 miles until you reach the junction with the Southern Highway. Turn left onto the Southern Highway and continue driving for approximately 12 miles. Look for a sign indicating the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary and turn right into Maya Center. The entrance to the sanctuary is located at Mile 12 Southern Highway. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel, as service stations can be sparse in this area.

To reach Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary by public transportation, start at the Belize City Bus Terminal. Take a bus heading to Dangriga; these buses leave frequently and the fare is typically around BZD 7 to 10. Inform the bus driver that you want to get off at Maya Center.
