If you are driving, start by heading north on the Philip Goldson Highway (Highway 1) from Belize City. Continue on this highway for approximately 40 miles until you reach the junction for the town of Orange Walk. Turn left onto the Orange Walk Road and continue for about 12 miles until you reach the town of Orange Walk. From there, take the road toward the village of Chunox. Follow the Chunox Sarteneja Road for about 6 miles, and you will arrive at the entrance to the Shipstern Conservation & Management Area. Make sure to have some cash on hand, as there is a $5 entry fee for locals.

To reach Shipstern Conservation & Management Area using public transportation, take a bus from Belize City to Orange Walk. Buses leave regularly from the Belize City bus terminal and the fare is approximately $5-7 BZD. Once in Orange Walk, you will need to take a local taxi or another bus to Chunox. The taxi fare from Orange Walk to Chunox can vary, so it is advisable to negotiate the price beforehand, which could be around $20-25 BZD. After reaching Chunox, continue along Chunox Sarteneja Road by foot or arrange for a local taxi to take you to the entrance of Shipstern, which is about 6 miles away.
