Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Coastal Plains and head west on the main road towards the Hummingbird Highway. Continue for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the junction with the Hummingbird Highway (about 20 km from your starting point). At the junction, turn left onto the Hummingbird Highway and drive for about 15 km. Look for the signs directing you to Barton Creek Cave Reserve. Turn right at the sign for 'Barton Creek' and continue for about 7 km until you reach the entrance of the reserve. Make sure to watch for road signs indicating the cave reserve to avoid missing the turn.
Public Transportation
To reach Barton Creek Cave Reserve via public transportation, start at the main bus terminal in Coastal Plains. Board a bus heading towards San Ignacio. The fare is approximately BZD 10-15. The journey will take about 1-1.5 hours. Once you arrive in San Ignacio, you will need to take a taxi to Barton Creek Cave Reserve. Taxis are readily available at the bus terminal, and the fare to the reserve is around BZD 25-30. The taxi ride is about 20 minutes. Make sure to confirm the price with the driver before starting your journey.
