Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start by heading south on the Coastal Road from your location in Coastal Plains. Follow the road for approximately 40 minutes until you reach the junction with the Philip Goldson Highway (also known as the Northern Highway). Turn right onto the Philip Goldson Highway and continue for about 30 minutes until you reach Belize City. Once in Belize City, head to the Belize City Municipal Airport. The airport is approximately a 15-minute drive from the city center.

• Public Transportation

  For public transportation, take a local bus from Coastal Plains heading to Belize City. The journey should take about 1 to 1.5 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Belize City bus terminal, you can take a taxi to the Belize City Municipal Airport, which is about a 15-minute drive away.

• Boat

  Once at the Belize City Municipal Airport, you will need to take a domestic flight to the nearest airstrip that services Blackbird Caye Resort. Flights are usually available from Tropic Air or Maya Island Air. After landing at the airstrip, you will then transfer to a boat for a scenic ride to the resort, which typically takes about 30-40 minutes. Be sure to check the resort's website for any transportation arrangements they might offer.

  Expect to pay around $20-25 USD for the bus from Coastal Plains to Belize City. Taxi fares from the bus terminal to the airport can vary, but budget around $15-20 USD. The flight to the airstrip is approximately $150-200 USD, and the boat ride is often included in your flight or resort package, so check in advance.
