Getting There

• Bus

  From Dangriga, head to the main bus terminal located on the Western Highway. Look for buses heading towards 'Maya Center' or 'Belmopan.' These buses usually depart frequently throughout the day. Make sure to inform the driver or the conductor that you want to get off at 'Bocawina.' The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Bocawina entrance, you will need to walk about 1.5 miles to reach Upper Bocawina Falls.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer biking, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Dangriga. Start by heading west on the main road towards the Southern Highway. Follow the road signs guiding you towards Bocawina National Park. The distance is about 8 miles, and the ride should take around 1-1.5 hours depending on your pace. Be cautious of traffic and stay on the shoulder where possible. Once you arrive at the park entrance, continue on the marked trails to reach Upper Bocawina Falls.

• Hiking

  For the adventurous, you can hike to Upper Bocawina Falls. Start from Dangriga and follow the Southern Highway heading south. After about 2 miles, take a right onto a dirt road leading to Bocawina National Park. This road may be rough, so be prepared for a challenging hike. It’s advisable to wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water. The hike to the falls is approximately 3 miles from the highway, and you will encounter some steep sections along the way.
