Getting There

  • Walking

    Start your journey from the center of Hopkins village. Head north on the main road (Hummingbird Highway). Continue walking until you reach the junction where the highway meets the road leading to Belize City. This distance is approximately 2 miles. Once at the junction, you can catch a bus or a taxi to Belize City. Buses are frequent and will take you directly to Belize City. Once you arrive in Belize City, disembark at the bus terminal.

  • Public Transport

    Upon arriving at the bus terminal in Belize City, look for signs indicating routes towards the city center. You will want to board a bus heading towards the downtown area. The ride will take about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Ask the driver to let you off at the nearest stop to Regent Street. Once you get off, walk towards Regent Street, which is about a 5-minute walk. Government House is located at 71 Regent Street, easily recognizable by its historical architecture.

    After getting off the bus, walk east down Regent Street. You will pass local shops and eateries. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles. Government House will be on your right side, look for a large white building with a well-maintained garden in front. The entrance is welcoming, and you can take photos outside before entering to explore.
