Car
From Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve, head southwest on Forest Road for approximately 10 miles (16 km) until you reach the junction with the Southern Highway. Turn left onto the Southern Highway and continue for about 7 miles (11 km). Look for the sign for Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, located at Mile 12 on the Southern Highway. Follow the signs to the sanctuary entrance, where you may need to pay an entrance fee, which is approximately $10 USD per person.
Public Transportation
To use public transportation, you can catch a bus from a nearby town such as San Ignacio or Belmopan. Buses regularly run to the Maya Center, which is located at Mile 12 on the Southern Highway. Upon arriving at Maya Center, you will need to take a taxi (approximately $10-$15 USD) to the sanctuary entrance. Be sure to confirm the taxi fare before your journey.
