Car
If you are traveling by car from anywhere in Mountain Pine Ridge, head south on the main road towards the junction for the Hummingbird Highway (also known as the Southern Highway). Continue straight until you reach the junction, then take a left onto the Hummingbird Highway. After approximately 7 miles, you will see signs for Barton Creek Cave Reserve. Turn left onto the road leading to the Reserve, which will take you directly to the entrance. Note that the road can be bumpy, so drive carefully.
Public Transportation
To reach Barton Creek Cave Reserve via public transportation, locate the nearest bus stop in Mountain Pine Ridge and take a bus heading towards San Ignacio. Once you arrive in San Ignacio, transfer to a local bus or taxi that goes towards the Hummingbird Highway. Inform the driver that you want to go to Barton Creek Cave Reserve. They will drop you off at the main entrance, but be sure to ask the driver for confirmation. Expect to pay a small fare for the bus ride, typically around $2-5 BZD.
Walking
If you are already close to Barton Creek Cave Reserve, you may choose to walk. From the nearest accommodations in Mountain Pine Ridge, follow the main road south towards the Hummingbird Highway. Once you reach the highway, continue walking until you see the signs for Barton Creek Cave Reserve. This option is feasible if you are within a couple of miles of the entrance, but be cautious as the roads can be busy and lack pedestrian paths.
