Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of San Ignacio, start at the Cahal Pech Visitor Center. Head south on the main road (Branch Mouth Road) until you reach the intersection with the road leading towards the Belize River. Turn right onto the road that follows the river. Continue walking along this route for about 1.5 kilometers, enjoying the scenery along the way. You will pass by local homes and some small shops. Keep an eye out for signs that indicate you are nearing Baking Pot. Finally, as you approach the coordinates 5W29+WX9, you will see the entrance to Baking Pot on your left.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to rent a bicycle in San Ignacio, head towards the Banco de Belize on Burns Avenue to get a bike. Once you have your bike, start cycling along the main road, Branch Mouth Road. Continue to the intersection with the road leading towards the Belize River. Take a right turn onto the river road and cycle for about 1.5 kilometers. This route is relatively flat and offers beautiful views of the river. Look for signs indicating the proximity to Baking Pot and keep your eyes peeled for the entrance on your left at the coordinates 5W29+WX9.

• Local Transport (Bus or Shuttle)

  From San Ignacio's main bus terminal, look for a bus or shuttle heading towards the Belize River area. You can ask locals for help, as they are usually familiar with the routes. Board the bus and inform the driver you wish to get off near Baking Pot. The journey should take approximately 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the entrance at 5W29+WX9. It's a short walk from the drop-off point.
