Getting There

    From the center of San Ignacio, head west on Burns Avenue until you reach the junction with the Western Highway (the main road). Turn right onto the Western Highway and walk for about 15 minutes until you reach the San Jose Succotz bus terminal. Here, you can catch a local bus or a shared taxi to San Jose Succotz, which is the closest village to Xunantunich. The bus ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes.

    Once you arrive at the San Jose Succotz bus terminal, disembark and walk towards the river. You will see a ferry terminal that takes you across the Mopan River to the entrance of Xunantunich. The ferry operates frequently, so you shouldn't wait long. After crossing the river, continue on foot along the trail that leads to the archaeological site. The walk from the ferry terminal to Xunantunich will take about 20-30 minutes. Follow the signs and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.
