Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from The Cayes, take the Southern Highway (Hummingbird Highway) towards San Ignacio. The drive from The Cayes to San Ignacio takes approximately 2-3 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive in San Ignacio, follow signs for the Cahal Pech Archaeological Reserve. You will need to turn onto W. Ford Young Drive, and the reserve will be on your right. Parking is available on-site.

    To reach Cahal Pech Archaeological Reserve via public transportation, take a bus or shared shuttle from The Cayes to San Ignacio. Buses depart regularly, and the journey takes about 2-3 hours. Once you arrive at the San Ignacio bus terminal, you can either take a taxi (which should cost around BZD 10-15) or walk to the reserve, which is about a 15-minute walk. Head northeast on Burns Avenue, then take a left onto W. Ford Young Drive until you reach the reserve.
