If you are renting a car in The Cayes, start your journey by driving to the Southern Highway (Hummingbird Highway). From San Pedro, take the ferry to Belize City and then drive south. Follow the signs towards the Southern Highway. After approximately 45 miles, you will reach the town of Dangriga. Continue driving on the Southern Highway for about 12 miles until you see the sign for Maya Center. Turn left at the sign onto the access road leading to Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary.

To use public transportation, first, take a water taxi from San Pedro to Belize City. The water taxi terminal is located near the center of San Pedro. Once in Belize City, head to the main bus terminal. Look for buses heading to Dangriga, which depart regularly. The bus ride takes about 2 hours. Once you arrive in Dangriga, you can catch a local bus or taxi to Maya Center. Inform the driver that you are headed to Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, which is about 12 miles from Dangriga.
