Car
From Vaca Plateau, head south on the Southern Highway (Hummingbird Highway) towards Placencia. The drive will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Once you reach the Placencia junction, turn left onto Placencia Road, which will lead you directly into the village of Placencia. Continue straight until you reach the beach area where Tipsy Tuna is located. The statue is situated right on the beach in front of Tipsy Tuna restaurant, easily visible from the road.
Public Transportation
To reach Tipsy Tuna’s Tipsy Tuna Statue by public transportation, you can take a bus from Vaca Plateau to Placencia. Buses typically depart from the main bus terminal. Look for buses heading to Placencia or Dangriga, and confirm with the driver that they will stop in Placencia. The bus ride will take about 2 to 2.5 hours. Once in Placencia, exit the bus and walk towards the beach. Tipsy Tuna is located directly on the beach, and the statue will be visible as you approach.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Vaca Plateau to Placencia. This option is more expensive, typically costing around $80-100 USD one way, depending on negotiation and time of day. The taxi will take you directly to Tipsy Tuna, where the statue is located on the beach. Make sure to agree on a return fare with the driver if you plan to come back to Vaca Plateau.
