Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards the town of Abomey-Calavi. From there, take Route Nationale 2 (N2) towards Ouidah. After approximately 15 km, look for signs indicating Ganvié, and follow the road to the edge of the lagoon where you will find parking facilities. Note that you cannot drive directly into Ganvié, as it is an island village.
Public Transportation
To reach Ganvié via public transportation, take a taxi-brousse (shared taxi) from Cotonou to Abomey-Calavi. The fare is typically around 500 CFA Francs. Once you arrive in Abomey-Calavi, look for a local taxi or moto-taxi that can take you to the lagoon's edge where you can catch a boat to Ganvié. The boat ride costs about 1,000 to 2,000 CFA Francs per person, depending on the provider.

After reaching the lagoon's edge by car or public transport, you will need to take a boat to Ganvié. Various boat services are available, and it is advisable to negotiate the fare beforehand.
