Walking
If you are starting from the Cotonou Central Market, head south on Rue de la République. As you walk, keep an eye out for the busy local shops and vendors. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenue Jean-Paul II. Turn left onto Avenue Jean-Paul II and walk straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Route de l'Aéroport. Follow this road for about 1 km. You will see Place du Souvenir on your left, marked by its notable statue and memorial.

Starting from the Hôtel du Lac, exit the hotel and turn right onto Rue de la République. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Avenue Jean-Paul II. Turn right onto Avenue Jean-Paul II and continue walking towards the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Route de l'Aéroport and keep walking for about 1 km. Place du Souvenir will be on your left, easily recognizable by its attractive monument.

If you are near the Cotonou Beach, head northeast along the beach road until you reach Avenue Jean-Paul II. Turn left on Avenue Jean-Paul II and continue straight until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto Route de l'Aéroport. Walk along this road for approximately 1 km. You will find Place du Souvenir on your left side. Look for the large statue, which is a key feature of the place.

From the Musée des Arts et Traditions du Bénin, exit and head west on Rue de la République. Follow the road until you reach Avenue Jean-Paul II. Turn left and proceed until you come to the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Route de l'Aéroport. After about 1 km, you will see Place du Souvenir on your left. The memorial is a significant landmark and should be easy to spot.
