Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the Lokossa central market (Marché central de Lokossa). From the market, head south on Avenue du Général de Gaulle. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto Route Nationale 2 towards Ouidah. Walk along this road for about 8 kilometers until you reach the outskirts of Ouidah. Look for signs directing you to Memorial de Zoungbodji, which is located near the main road.

• Bicycle

  Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Lokossa. Begin your journey at the Lokossa central market (Marché central de Lokossa). Ride south on Avenue du Général de Gaulle for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you come to the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Route Nationale 2 heading towards Ouidah. Continue cycling for about 8 kilometers. As you approach Ouidah, keep an eye out for signs indicating the direction to Memorial de Zoungbodji.

• Public Transport (Motorbike Taxi)

  To use a motorbike taxi (locally known as 'zémidjan'), head to a nearby zémidjan stop from your location in Lokossa. Inform the driver that you wish to go to Memorial de Zoungbodji or Ouidah. The journey will take about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic, and you can ask the driver to drop you off as close to the memorial as possible. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your ride.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  Find a local bus station in Lokossa and look for a bus heading to Ouidah. Once you board the bus, let the conductor know you are going to Memorial de Zoungbodji. The bus ride will take approximately 30-45 minutes. Upon reaching Ouidah, disembark at the main bus station and ask locals for directions to Memorial de Zoungbodji, which is a short walk from there.
