Located in the picturesque town of Jakar in Bhutan, Kurjey Lhakhang is a renowned Buddhist temple and a popular tourist attraction. The temple complex consists of several buildings, each with its unique architectural style and spiritual significance. Visitors are greeted by intricately carved prayer wheels and colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind. Getting There

  • Car

    To reach Kurjey Lhakhang by car, you can start from the city of Thimphu. Take the road towards Punakha and continue on the Wangdue Phodrang - Punakha Highway. After passing through Punakha, continue on the highway until you reach the town of Chuzomsa. From Chuzomsa, take the road towards Bumthang. Kurjey Lhakhang is located in the district of Bumthang, so follow the signs towards Bumthang and you will eventually reach your destination.

  • Public Transportation

    If you are travelling by public transportation, you can take a bus from the Thimphu bus station to Bumthang. The bus journey may take several hours, so be prepared for a long ride. Once you reach Bumthang, you can hire a taxi or take a local bus to Kurjey Lhakhang. Make sure to ask the bus driver or taxi driver to drop you off at the nearest point to the temple, as it may require a short walk to reach the actual site.
