Car
If you are driving from Jakar town, start by heading southeast on the main road (Jakar-Debring Road). After approximately 3 kilometers, you will see a sign for Nyimalung Monastery. Turn right at the sign and follow the narrow road leading up the hill. The road will wind upward for about 1 kilometer, and you will arrive at Nyimalung Monastery, which is located at the coordinates (27.4963905, 90.7472034). Ensure you have enough fuel, as there are limited service stations in the area.
Public Transportation
To reach Nyimalung Monastery using public transport, take a local bus from Jakar to the nearby village of Nyimalung. Buses run several times a day, and the fare is approximately 50 Nu (Bhutanese Ngultrum). Once you arrive in Nyimalung village, you can either walk the remaining 1 kilometer uphill to the monastery (approximately a 15-20 minute walk) or hire a local taxi, which should cost around 200 Nu.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Jakar to Nyimalung Monastery. The taxi ride will take about 15 minutes and will cost approximately 300 Nu. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey. The taxi will take you directly to the entrance of the monastery.
