If you have access to a car, start from the main town center of Haa Valley. Head east on the main road towards Jakar, following signs for Jakar Dzong. The journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, covering a distance of about 60 kilometers. The roads are winding and may be steep in places, so drive carefully. Upon arrival, you’ll find parking available near the entrance of the Dzong.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can catch a local bus from Haa Valley to Jakar. Buses typically leave from the central bus station in Haa. Make sure to check the schedule, as buses may not run frequently. The fare is usually around 50-100 Ngultrum, depending on the service. The journey takes about 2 to 3 hours. Once you arrive in Jakar, it's a short walk to Jakar Dzong, which you’ll see prominently located in the town.

The fare can vary, but expect to pay between 1500-2000 Ngultrum for a one-way trip. The taxi will take you directly to the Dzong, where you can get out at the entrance.
