If you are traveling by car, start from the main town of Haa. Head southwest on the main road (also known as the Haa-Gelephu Highway) towards Giala. After approximately 10 kilometers, you will reach an intersection. At this junction, take a right turn towards Giala. Continue on this road for about 5 kilometers until you see signs for Khotokha Ramsar. The final destination is located at coordinates 27.4317 latitude and 89.9967 longitude. There are no tolls for this route.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a local bus from Haa town to Giala. Buses usually run every hour, and the fare is quite affordable, generally around 50 Nu (Bhutanese Ngultrum). Once you arrive in Giala, you may need to hire a taxi or find a local vehicle to take you the last 5 kilometers to Khotokha Ramsar. Taxi fares can vary, but you should expect to pay around 300-500 Nu for the short trip.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, you can trek from Giala to Khotokha Ramsar. This will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to wear proper hiking shoes and carry water. The path is scenic but can be challenging, so be prepared for some elevation changes.
