Car
From Lhuentse town, head east on the main road towards the village of Gorgan. Continue driving for about 15 km until you reach a fork in the road. Take the left fork and proceed for another 5 km. Look for a sign indicating the Bongbu re Waterfall. The waterfall is located about 2 km off the main road, so you will need to follow a dirt path. Drive carefully as the road can be rough. Parking is available near the trailhead leading to the waterfall.
Public Transportation
Take a local bus or shared taxi from Lhuentse town heading towards Gorgan. The fare is approximately 50 Nu (Bhutanese Ngultrum). Inform the driver that you want to get off at the Bongbu re Waterfall drop-off point. After disembarking, you will need to walk approximately 2 km along a dirt path to reach the waterfall. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the path may be uneven.
Hiking
If you are feeling adventurous, you can opt to hike to Bongbu re Waterfall. Starting from Lhuentse town, take the path leading towards Gorgan and follow the directions as mentioned above. The hike is approximately 20 km one way and can take around 5-6 hours depending on your pace. Ensure to carry enough water and snacks, and start early in the day to avoid hiking back in the dark.
