From Lhuntse, head south on the main road towards the eastern direction. Follow the signs for Samdrup Jongkhar, which is approximately 100 km away. The journey will take about 3-4 hours. Upon reaching Samdrup Jongkhar, follow the local signs to Chapna N.C. Once you arrive in Chapna N.C., look for Bhutan Road (R737+HXR) where the Indo-Bhutan Border Gateway is located. There is usually ample parking available nearby.
Public Transportation
Start by taking a local bus or shared taxi from Lhuntse to Samdrup Jongkhar. Buses and shared taxis frequently depart from the local bus station. The fare should be around 150-200 BTN, and the journey typically takes around 4-5 hours. Once you reach Samdrup Jongkhar, you can take a local taxi to Chapna N.C. The taxi ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes and should cost roughly 300-400 BTN. Ask the driver to drop you off at Bhutan Road (R737+HXR) for the Indo-Bhutan Border Gateway.
Walk
If you are already in Chapna N.C., you can walk to the Indo-Bhutan Border Gateway. From the town center, head towards Bhutan Road (R737+HXR) and follow the road until you see the gateway. It should take about 20-30 minutes on foot, so be prepared for a short walk.
