Car
If you are driving from Mongar town, take the road heading east towards the Lingmethang area. Continue on this road for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach a fork. At the fork, take the left road which leads towards the Khar and Tongphugang area. After another 5 kilometers, look for signs indicating the Tongphugang Community Forest. The forest is located near the coordinates 27.47279° N, 91.18968° E, so you may also use a GPS system to assist you. Parking may be available at the entrance of the forest.
Public Transportation
From Mongar town, locate the bus terminal and take a local bus heading towards Khar. Buses typically leave every hour, but it’s best to check the current schedule. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Inform the bus driver that you are heading to Tongphugang Community Forest, and they will drop you off at the nearest stop. From there, you may need to walk about 1-2 kilometers, following the signs towards the forest. The walk may take around 20-30 minutes, so wear comfortable shoes.
Taxi
Another option is to hire a taxi from Mongar town. Agree on a fare before starting your journey; the ride to Tongphugang Community Forest should cost around 500-700 Ngultrum, depending on negotiations. The taxi will take you directly to the entrance of the forest. It's advisable to arrange for return transportation with the taxi driver, as public transportation may be infrequent.
